About David

Coach. Founder. Fellow human.

Before I became a coach, I wore a lot of hats: locksmith, restaurant worker, graphic designer, art director, Apple Store Genius, Inventory Control Specialist, and Assistant Manager, and tech consultant. No matter the role, there was one throughline—helping people.

I’ve always been driven by connection. I love working with people, solving problems, and celebrating those small moments of clarity that change everything.

But behind all that? I was struggling with my own health.

Growing up as a gay kid who was overweight...

I got bullied early—mocked for my body, my chest, my softness. That shame stayed with me for decades. Like so many of us, I tried every diet, every reset, every “this time it’ll stick” plan. None of it worked—not for long, anyway.

What finally changed things for me wasn’t more restriction.

It was understanding the why behind my choices—and learning how to build habits from a place of curiosity, not control.

That’s why I went back to school. I earned a degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, followed by a Master of Science in Human Nutrition. I completed Precision Nutrition’s Level 1 and Level 2 certifications—where I learned not just the science of food, but the psychology of behavior change.

Those experiences didn’t just change my health. They changed me.

And they became the foundation of DMNFIT – a coaching practice built for gay men over 40 who want something real. Something sustainable. Something that honors their experience without demanding perfection.

Today, I help my clients create simple, consistent, deeply personal habits that actually fit their lives.
